Michael
Espinoza has been dancing and
teaching Argentine Tango since August
1986.
Michael
has been dancing twenty-six years and
was initally trained by Ken & Sheila
Sloan and Jill Morton Erwin as a competitor
in the International Ballroom dance arena.
Dancing and teaching Argentine Tango since
1986, Michael has taken instructions from
some of the most renowned Argentine dancers
and teachers. He has been primarily dedicated
to the incomparable style of one of the
remaining tango masters, Orlando Paiva.
Michael trained with Orlando from 1986
to 1988 when Orlando went back to live
in Rossario, Argentina.
In
1996, Michael flew to Santiago de Chile
to train with Orlando. Arrangements were
made to promote and organize Orlando's
return to the United States. In that same
year, the great Juan Carlos Copez recognized
Orlando Paiva to be the best tango dancer.
Many events were organized to promote
Orlando, the main being Tango Splash and
the production of two teaching video tapes.
Michael
continuously takes intensive private tango
instructions with the world Tango Masters
Orlando Paiva and Carlos Gavito and combine
their styles of dancing and teaching.
Since October 1994, Michael has been teaching
throughout Los Angeles and Orange County.
He also sponsors for his students some
of the best Argentine dancers and instructors
like Orlando Paiva, the fabulous Sandor
& Tiffany, and Carlos Gavito &
Marcela Duran of Forever Tango. As performer,
Michael has participated in the best Tango
shows:
As
a promoter he has hosted Milongas and
Bailongos (general dancing) throughout
the city and was a presenter and co-creator
of the fabulous tango event Tango Splash
at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in 1996.
